Shawn Brenhouse, an attorney for Catholic University, said the university will continue to defend its right to sell the dress, the proceeds of which are planned to support the drama school.
The university contends the objecting relatives have no case.
The dress will be auctioned May 24 in Los Angeles, with the proceeds going toward a new film acting program at The Catholic University of America’s Benjamin T. Rome School of Music, Drama, and Art.
