The Church celebrates the feast day of St. Teresa of Calcutta on Sept. 5.
COMMENTARY: Women like Sts. Helen, Monica, Catherine of Siena and Teresa of Calcutta are reminders that, more than anything else, what the Church, the world, and all men, women and children need is simple.
Sept. 5 is also observed as Teachers Day in India.

St. Teresa of Calcutta treated each individual with dignity and love, and her every encounter began with a smile.
Recognizing, adoring, loving and receiving Jesus in the Holy Eucharist propelled her to recognize, love, welcome and care for him under even the most distressing disguise of the poorest of the poor.
The bishops voted to include her feast day as an optional memorial that could be celebrated in the Mass on Sept. 5, the anniversary of St. Teresa of Calcutta’s death.
The stamp bears one of St. Teresa of Calcutta’s famous sayings: “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”
‘Prayer is very powerful; and when you feel like, well, I can’t do anything except pray ... you know what, that’s really a lot. ... Lest we forget the power of God, prayer is doing something.’ — Chris Stefanick, Real Life Catholic
