The group is being led by Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Campbell. She said on Thursday that the group will serve as a “united effort” to “protect access to abortion across our country.”
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 7, but early voting has already begun. Voting Yes on Issue 1 would amend the Ohio Constitution to add a new right to ‘reproductive freedom,’ which includes ‘abortion’ and ‘contraception,’ among other things. Voting No on Issue 1 would prevent this language from being added.
The amendment, if passed, would dictate that Ohio “shall not, directly or indirectly, burden, penalize, prohibit, interfere with, or discriminate against” a woman’s attempt to get an abortion.
COMMENTARY: Along with mandating abortion on demand, the state’s so-called ‘Reproductive Freedom for All’ initiative extends even further.
Pro-life leaders have warned that the term “sexual and reproductive health” commonly includes abortion and contraception in international diplomatic parlance.
