ROSARY & ART: The Fifth Glorious Mystery is the Coronation of Mary as Queen of Heaven
COMMENTARY: The Coronation of the Blessed Mother reminds us that we are meant to one day live eternally body and soul in heaven as acknowledged adopted members of God’s family.
‘A great portent appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars.’ (Revelation 12:1)
The feast of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a royal occasion to sing the praises of our Queen Mother
SAINTS & ART: Just as the moon reflects the sun, so Mary reflects her Son in ‘fully revealing man to himself’
I would suggest that the feast of the Queenship of Mary has to do with this choice: Where do you stand in the great spiritual struggle?
SAINTS & ART: The origins of the Blessed Mother’s title as “Mary, Queen of Poland” — a feast celebrated May 3 — reach back to 1656.
The Queenship of Mary celebrates what God wants for all of us, realized most fully in Mary.
We are citizens of an earthly city, but that allegiance is always subordinate to our loyalty to our King and Queen.
