‘It’s Filled Me With So Much Hope’: National Eucharistic Pilgrimage Passes Through Wisconsin

The four pilgrimage groups — currently in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Alabama and Nebraska — will converge in Indianapolis on July 16 in time for the National Eucharistic Congress from July 17–21.
After Mass at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception celebrated by Auxiliary Bishop Evelio Menjívar-Ayala, the crowd of faithful filed out of the church and spilled into the streets to follow the procession.
So far, the sisters have journeyed through Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Maryland. On June 8, they were in Washington, D.C.
Visual highlights as the National Eucharistic Procession crosses the Mississippi and reaches the nation’s capital.
It was likely the largest gathering in Emmitsburg since Mother Seton’s canonization in 1975.
This weekend many Catholics will participate in Eucharist processions. During the Eucharistic Revival, there have been hundreds of public displays of worship of the Blessed Sacrament captured by our radio guest Catholic photographer Jeff Bruno. And EWTN News’ Catherine Hadro and Mark Irons talk about their experiences of the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage.
The young people dedicated to walking with the Eucharist the entire journey say they’ve experienced amazing enthusiasm, hospitality and reverence among the crowds of people who have met them so far.
