Cardinal Braz de Aviz noted that we are living this Lent “in a very particular manner,” that “no one could have thought of or imagined, and that really requires each day from each one of us a change in our style and way of living.”
While many have been left asking “why God in his providence has allowed this pandemic to occur,” Bishop Egan said it is clear that “He has given us victory through the death and resurrection of His Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, and poured into human history the power of the Holy Spirit to guide all things in the right direction.”
Lent ‘is a favorable season for opening the doors to all those in need and recognizing in them the face of Christ,’ Francis says.
