According to a brief Vatican statement, at the beginning of the meeting, Pope Francis gave the 210 bishops a card with an image of the Good Shepherd and a meditation called “The Beatitudes of the Bishop.”
The center will ‘help start diocesan paths to provide formation for the prevention of abuse’ and assist in canonical and civil lawsuits.
Bishops' backing follows two major pro-life demonstrations in which the episcopal conference chose not to participate.
Journalists, editors and technicians from TV2000, the Italian bishops’ conference broadcasting station, met with the Pope on Dec. 15.
