
Abortion Defeats About More Than Politics

Pro-life organizations are expressing concern for families, women and children after Ohio voters approved a referendum to enshrine a right to abortion in the state Constitution.
A Yes vote would establish a new constitutional right to abortion, and a No vote would reject that language being added to the state Constitution.
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 7, but early voting has already begun. Voting Yes on Issue 1 would amend the Ohio Constitution to add a new right to ‘reproductive freedom,’ which includes ‘abortion’ and ‘contraception,’ among other things. Voting No on Issue 1 would prevent this language from being added.
One church was defaced with pro-abortion messages spray-painted on a window and more than a dozen other church properties had their pro-life campaign signs stolen or destroyed.
Catholic bishops have strongly rebuked the amendment for months.
In a recent poll, slightly more than one-third of voters answered that they oppose the amendment.
The Ohio march was organized by the same group behind the National March for Life, which takes place every year in January, in conjunction with Ohio Right to Life.
The March for Life — the pro-life organization co-hosting the march — said that speakers at the event will be educating attendees on the dangers of the November constitutional amendment.
