They also called for a safe and secure border and policies that deter dangerous criminal activity on the southern border.
The administration’s announcement comes on the anniversary of DACA, an Obama-era program created to protect eligible young adults who were brought to the United States illegally as children.
The migrants were found dead in an abandoned tractor-trailer in San Antonio, Texas on the evening of June 27.
The advertisements, placed by the American Business Immigration Coalition Action, quote Archbishop Wenski claiming that DeSantis called immigrant children 'disgusting.'
“Catholic Charities’ work with migrants is rooted in the Gospel and in Catholic social teaching,” said the joint Aug. 12 statement of Catholic Charities USA and the Texas bishops.
