Bishop Egan of Portsmouth urged Catholics earlier this month to resist the “fundamentally detestable” efforts to liberalize the island's abortion law.
Bishop Egan was referring to a decision by the States of Guernsey, the island’s parliament, to debate the “modernization” of the local abortion law June 17.
