At the end of the general audience the Holy Father reminded the faithful that Saturday, Jan. 27, is the International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust.
On Feb. 10, the Holy Father said the jubilee is time ‘for conversion, so that our hearts can become bigger, more generous, more like a child of God, with more love,’ adding that this includes sharing goods and money with the poor.
Texas laws currently permit payday lenders to exploit the poor through interest rates and fees that can amount to five times the amount of the original loan or more, according to the Texas Catholic Conference.
