Pope Francis said he is grateful to those people who have been ‘true neighbors’ to Ukrainians, by welcoming those who have been forced to abandon their homes and families.
“Prayer, and in particular prayer to Mary, is very powerful," said the Russian archbishop.
Since the invasion began, Lviv has become a “western capital” of the country as Kyiv, the capital, came under attack.
The major archbishop said he had received messages from all over the world with assurances of prayer.
The bishops urged Polish Catholics to open 'homes, hostels, diocesan and parish retreat houses, and all places where help can be provided to people in need.'
