The prospective foster parents, Michael and Catherine Burke, reside in Southampton, Massachusetts.
“Children deserve a mom and a dad,” state Republican committee member Deborah Martell wrote adding, “That’s how God designed marriage and the family.”
The bill also seeks to establish a state right to an abortion, which would stand even if Roe v. Wade were to be overturned.
