The provincial government’s website states that “advance requests” for medical aid in dying may be made by individuals who have “been diagnosed with a serious and incurable illness leading to incapacity” such as Alzheimer’s disease.
Cardinal Collins pointed out that if this bill were to become law, there would be waiting periods in his home province of Ontario “for gym memberships and new condominium purchases,” but not for assisted deaths.
