The Institution:

The College of St. Joseph the Worker forms students into effective and committed members of their communities by teaching them the Catholic intellectual tradition while training them in skilled and dignified labor. We teach our students to think, but also to pray, to love and to build.

The college’s unique curriculum delves deeply into the Catholic intellectual tradition. Combining faith and reason, theology and philosophy, it reaches truths that not only enlighten the mind, but also perfect the soul. We do not artificially divide “secular” pursuits from “religious” pursuits. Rather, the things of the world and the things of the spirit are always treated together in order to form the whole person, both body and soul — all of this always with an eye toward the three unique dimensions of the lay vocation: sanctifying the family, the workplace and society.

Pope Benedict XVI had it right when he said that “Christians cannot live just like ‘everybody else.’” At the College of St. Joseph the Worker, we take this idea seriously. Each of us is called to something better. We have a duty to live out authentic Catholicism and to rebuild a different kind of society. That starts with each of us!
