The actor who was raised Catholic dazzled millions with his pro-life speech.

During another glitzy evening in Los Angeles at the Dolby Theatre for the 2025 Academy Awards, the internet lit up when actor Kieran Culkin used the platform to make a beautiful speech about the love of his wife and his children.

After accepting the award for best supporting actor for his role in the Jesse Eisenberg film, A Real Pain, the actor who grew up Catholic shared an exchange he and his wife had last year when he didn't win an award.

“I love you, Jazz. This is, I have to thank my wife, Jazz, for absolutely everything, for giving me my favorite people in the world,” said Culkin.

“This is — please don’t play the music because I want to tell a really quick story about Jazz,” he continued before wrapping his speech.

“About a year ago, I was on a stage like this and I very stupidly, publicly said that I want a third kid from her because she said if I won the award, I would, she would give me the kid. It turns out she said that because she didn’t think I was gonna win, but then people came up to her and were like, you know, really annoying her, I think, I think it got to her, but anyway.”

“After the show," Culkin continued. "We’re walking through a parking lot, she’s holding the Emmy, we’re trying to find a car. Emily, you were there, so you’re a witness, and she goes, ‘Oh God, I did say that. I guess I owe you a third kid,’ and I turned to her and I said, ‘Really I want four.’ And she turned to me, I swear to God this happened, it was just over a year ago, she said, ‘I will give you four when you win an Oscar.’ I held my hand out, she shook it and I have not brought it up once until just now.”

“You remember that, honey? You do? Then, I just have this to say to you, Jazz, love of my life, ye of little faith. No pressure. I love you. I’m really sorry I did this again. And let’s get crackin’ on those kids. What do you say? I love you!”

The happy couple resides in Brooklyn and were married in 2013. They currently have 2 children: a 5-year-old girl named Kinsey Sioux and Wilder Wolf, their 3-year-old son. But many Catholics and pro-life leaders took to social media to celebrate such a pro-family speech on a Hollywood stage that often celebrates abortion.

Kristan Hawkins and her organization, Students for Life, quickly reacted to the news, saying how wonderful it is to see life celebrated at such a venue.

Pro-life group 40 Days for Life, founded by David Bereit and now presided by Shawn Carney also applauded the message as parenthood became the "real prize of the night."

Catholic convert, author and mother of 3 Leah Libresco wished the couple the best upon seeing the clip musing about the difference between a "capstone" and "cornerstone" marriage.

Former Planned Parenthood worker turned pro-life activist and author Abby Johnson shared her thoughts on social media:

Culkin was raised Catholic having attended Catholic school in New York City, something that was packaged into a job his father, Kit, took as a sacristan at New York's Joseph's Church located in the Upper East Side. Culkin's mother, Patricia had seven children, and they all attended together while getting their feet wet in acting. Tragically one of his sisters, Dakota, died in an accident. The big break for Culkin came with the 90s holiday film, Home Alone, where he played little brother to his own older brother, Macaulay Culkin.

Although his faith doesn't seem to be shared much in recent interviews, Culkin also shared, during his Emmy win last year for his role in HBO's Succession, that his co-star Sarah Snook is a godmother to his son. And with the typical morning-after-the-Oscars stories typically celebrating one of the many woke ideologies, how refreshing to have a successful and talented young actor share not only the love he has for his wife of 12 years, but his earnest desire to bring more babies into this world.

May God bless them!
