Archbishop Cordileone Offers Elon Musk Advice on Marriage
The shepherd of San Francisco's advice went viral on X.

Just ahead of World Day Marriage and marking the first day of National Marriage Week, the shepherd of San Francisco, Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone, took to social media to offer Elon Musk some relationship advice.
A viral video was shared by "Tesla Owners of Silicon Valley" on X, formerly known as Twitter, showing Musk holding his toddler during a meeting.
Posted with a quote attributed to the Tesla owner, it reads:
“Of anything in my life, I would say kids by far make me the happiest.”
— Elon Musk
Archbishop Cordileone quoted the post and offered this advice to the man currently spearheading the DOGE entity within the Trump administration:
The video has now been seen more than 700,000 times; it shows Musk treating his son lovingly as he answers questions about his wife. “She’s in San Francisco. ... We are separated. I take care of him mostly ...”
Musk has been outspoken on the current demographic winter pervading not only our country but the world, and he himself has 12 children with three different women. He has spoken openly about losing one child to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), saying that “there is nothing worse than losing a child.” Writing in an email exchange with a father who also lost a child, he said: “I understand. ... My firstborn son died in my arms. I felt his heartbeat.”
The tech billionaire has now been dubbed a “pro-natalist” for advising more people to have children, and he, along with Vice President JD Vance, are showing the value of children within the halls of the White House and on Capitol Hill.
But as we celebrate National Marriage Week, may we hope that all men and women consider the sacrament and the great weight of responsibility that comes with becoming husband and wife and the enormous role parents must play with their children in sharing that complementarity.
Happy National Marriage Week!
